It’s always the biggest compliment when another photographer books with me but it also makes me SO nervous! Why? I have no idea! Something about another professional watching me work just really puts the pressure on.
I’m not sure why I was so worried…the little guy was so awesome!!! We got lots of cute baby smiles (or gas…who knows!). His mama wanted to use navy and red and incorporate some bears/woodland “theme”. This little fuzzy bear bonnet was SO perfect! How cute is that little felted bear?!
She also wanted to incorporate something from her Dad. You see…he passed away when she was younger and it was important to her that he be part of her baby boys session. The quilt Bellamy is laying on belonged to her Dad. I love incorporating special and meaningful items in sessions. It reminds me just how important these photos are and why I do what I do!
We originally hadn’t planned on parent/family photos. I mean…I get it. I have two kiddos of my own and I can promise the last thing I wanted after giving birth was to be in front of a camera. I joke that I felt like the pillsbury doughboy but it’s the honest truth! I still felt pregnant for a while after giving birth and definitely did not feel camera worthy!
Ya know…6 years later it’s also my biggest regret. I never push new moms and dad’s into being in the photos because I do honestly get it… but I also really love when they want to hop in! I think it is SO important to be IN the photos of your baby and kiddos. After all…this is the only time they will ever be this little!
