I have waited a LONG time to incorporate Harry Potter props into a newborn session. Honestly, it was probably top of my list of things to photograph. I had ONE specific image in mind and my heart leap out of my chest when I was finished!

I wasn’t originally planning on incorporating Harry Potter into this session. It kind of just fell into my lap (though, I’m over the moon that it did!). I had the session colors and props all planned out when Stevie mentioned they loved Harry Potter. Immediately, I was off running to every store I could think of gathering little bits of pieces of the Wizarding World. The night before the session I was sitting in bed watching TV and knitting a Gryffindor inspired scarf. It was 100% worth it!

I love just sitting and thinking of “out of the box” setups and creative edits that I don’t typically do every session. Sometimes, the setups to execute the visions are a little wonky looking in studio so I always have to tell my parents “just trust me!” I’m thankful they do! I really love the quote from Dumbledore when he says “Happiness can be found in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light.” That became the inspiration for the image and I knew it would be perfect.

This little guy was a chunk and I loved every bit of it. Of course, I did some of my simple setups like I do with every session including a beautiful navy blue, a little bit of teal, and some green!
